Overview
The Olde Pink House Restaurant & Tavern
Savannah Historic District
Named for the lovely pink-colored stucco which covers its exterior walls, The Olde Pink House Restaurant & Tavern is a grand Georgian mansion built in 1771, and is one of Savannah’s early restorations. Also known as one of Savannah’s most popular restaurants, they feature southern-influenced cuisine in sophisticated, yet casual surroundings. It holds the distinction of being Savannah’s only 18th Century Mansion, complete with outdoor dining and live entertainment nightly.
Olde Pink House is now home to an elegant restaurant appropriately named The Olde Pink House. It is next to the Planters Inn thus providing it with dining service and room service meals. The Olde Pink House is a favorite spot for intimate, romantic dinners. Guests can experience a nouvelle southern cuisine in a sophisticated, yet relaxed atmosphere. The cozy fireplaces, elegant chandeliers and portrait-lined walls add to the Southern charm of this 18th-century mansion.
The menu consists of typical dishes such as shrimp and grits, fried green tomatoes and barbecue-glazed duck. The more traditional molasses-glazed pork tenderloin with sweet potatoes and collards are also served.
Additionally, The Olde Pink House is also popular among ghost hunters. Ghostly figures haunt the premises throughout the night. However, this does not dissuade guests from going there to enjoy one of Savannah’s premier dining experiences.
